BRONX, NY — The National Center for Health Equity (NCHE), in partnership with the New York Healthy Lifestyle Campaign and #Not62: The Campaign for a Healthy Bronx, yesterday hosted a landmark book launch event celebrating the release of Lifestyle Lifespan: A Practical Guide to Healthy Living. The event was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Center for Health Equity and Community Wellness, 1826 Arthur Avenue, Bronx, NY 10457.

The newly launched publication, authored by the National Center for Health Equity, is a comprehensive and accessible resource designed to empower individuals and communities to make informed choices about their health and well-being. Drawing on evidence-based research and practical strategies, the guide addresses key dimensions of healthy living — including nutrition, physical activity, mental wellness, and preventive care — with a particular focus on underserved and vulnerable communities who face disproportionate health challenges.

The Bronx, which consistently ranks among the least healthy counties in New York State, served as a fitting and symbolic backdrop for the launch. The #Not62 campaign — a community-driven initiative aimed at reversing the Bronx’s ranking as the 62nd (last) county in New York for health outcomes — provided a powerful rallying context for the release of this timely publication.“

This book is more than a guide — it is a declaration that health equity is a right, not a privilege. For far too long, communities like the Bronx have been left behind by systems that were never designed with them in mind. Lifestyle Lifespan is our answer to that inequity: a practical, community-centered tool that puts the power of healthy living directly into the hands of the people who need it most. We believe that when communities have access to knowledge, they have the power to transform their lives — and that transformation begins today,” said Sheikh Musa Drammeh, Chairman and Co-Founder, National Center for Health Equity (NCHE)

The launch event brought together community leaders, health practitioners, advocates, and residents in a vibrant celebration of health education and community empowerment. Attendees received copies of the guide and engaged in discussions about practical applications for improving individual and collective health outcomes across the Bronx and beyond.

NCHE’s initiative aligns with its broader mission to advance health equity through education, advocacy, and community engagement. The New York Healthy Lifestyle Campaign, which co-sponsored the event, continues to serve as a vital platform for mobilizing New Yorkers around healthy lifestyle choices.Lifestyle Lifespan: A Practical Guide to Healthy Living is now available through NCHE. Community organizations, schools, health clinics, and public institutions interested in bulk copies or partnership opportunities are encouraged to contact NCHE directly.
